Design
Experience
Amerequip’s experience in Design Engineering includes a long
history of developing various attachments for compact utility tractors,
larger agricultural tractors, and skid steer loaders. Current and
past designs include backhoes, front-end loaders, front blades, rear blades, box scrapers, rakes, trenchers, stump
cutters and snow blowers to name a few.
Some
recent design innovations by Amerequip Engineering include:
-
New series of backhoes designed for the compact utility tractor
market.
- A
unique and patented mounting system that enables the user to mount
a backhoe or other attachment in less than 60 seconds.
-
Heavy-duty backhoe with an extendable dipper for skid steer loaders.
The extendable dipper allows for more reach and deeper digging
depth without a larger backhoe.
- "Inside
Cab" controls for backhoes on skid steer loaders. The skid
steer operator can dig with the backhoe from inside the skid steer
cab. No switching seats is necessary. Repositioning while digging
is quick and easy.
- Developed
a specialized backhoe for the mini-skid steer market.
Custom
Designs for the OEM Market
Amerequip
can adapt its current designs to meet our Original Equipment Manufacturing
(OEM) customer’s needs and is fully capable of developing
new products to our OEM customer’s specifications. We are
well aware of the sensitive nature of some projects and work hard
to maintain a high level of trust and confidence.
Amerequip
Engineering is well versed in communicating with the OEM customer’s
design personnel. Our Specifications Department prides itself with
maintaining the design modifications via our change control process.
Our engineers are ready, willing and able to work closely with the
OEM customer in all aspects of the design and manufacturing phases.
Computer
Aided Engineering
The two different 3D solid modeling software packages we
use are SolidDesigner and Pro/Engineer. Both packages feature real-world
simulation and analysis, advanced surfacing, determination of weights,
volumes, and component interference checking.
Finite
Element Analysis (FEA) capabilities of Pro/Mechanica are utilized
in our continuing effort to shorten product development time and
produce a more reliable product for the consumer. Our engineers
also have at their disposal the dynamic analysis software MSC.visualNastran
Motion.
Amerequip
can import and export CAD data in
a wide variety of formats including IGES, STEP, and in the ever-popular
formats of DXF and DWG from AutoCAD.
Prototype
and Testing Facilities
Often
before a new design is created in metal, Finite Element Analysis
(FEA) is run on a computer model of the design to help eliminate
the higher stress areas. A full size and completely functional prototype
model is then built in the engineering shop facility for testing.
When necessary, the prototype model is stress coated and strain
gauged (by an outside source) to verify the FEA computer analysis.
The
prototype model is routinely subject to a reliability test with
a set number of hours of actual operation on our 35-acre test site.
